Let’s Dance!

Although salsa music is not originally from Spain, it has become very popular in this side of the Atlantic. Consequently, some of our students decided to sign up for a dance lesson with Korke, a local instructor.  As you can see, it was a lot of fun!

Tarta de Chocolate

As we quickly found out, many of our students have a ‘sweet tooth.’  A few days ago Aitor, one of our Spanish staff members, led a desserts activity in which students prepared a traditional Spanish chocolate cake.  These pictures clearly show not only our students’ culinary expertise but also their fondness for chocolate!

Spa Night

They say that sometimes “girls just want to have fun.”  And that is exactly what some of the ladies did tonight during the ‘spa night’ organized by Loira and Sara.  As you can see, many of them are now showcasing beautiful feathers in their hair while others put on a colorful coat of nail polish that matches the vitality of this charming city.  Enjoy!    

Los Toros

On Friday and Sunday nights a group of students went to the nearby town of San Fernando to attend a bull fight.  Although this cultural and traditional event is often times criticized by many, our students in attendance appeared to have truly enjoyed this experience.  In the meantime the students who opted out of this event for whatever reason had a restaurant night in Cádiz.  Hope these pictures give you a better idea of what they are like if you have never seen one before.  

Sports Activities

Today we went to the Los Toruños National Park and spent the day playing in the sun.  After soaking in some rays on the beach and cooling off in the ocean waters, we went on a biking tour and then did some kayaking.  This has been one of the favorite things the group has done so far in our program.  Hope you like the pictures!!! 

Welcome Dinner

The new two week program started yesterday and after orientation and an introductory tour of Cadiz we met for a welcome dinner.  Students had the first taste of Spanish food in our host city at one of our favorite local restaurants, Mesón La Cartuja.  There is nothing better than sitting in a terrace and enjoying delicious food and sharing it with a group of friends.  Hope you like the pictures!

Farewell Dinner

Often times it is said that “it is hard to say goodbye,” and that has certainly been the case for the two week students.  Our two week students were taken back to their favorite restaurant in Cádiz, Mesón Criollo, where they once again enjoyed some delicious tapas.  But, most importantly, it was another opportunity for them to get dressed up and spend time together as their memorable experience in southern Spain came to an end.  Instead of saying “adios” (or goodbye), we would prefer to say “hasta luego” (or see you later!).  !Hasta luego amigos!
